The Avatar, often referred to as the Trainer or Player, is the character the user plays as in Pokémon Go. The avatar can be customized with multiple clothing choices, including hair styles, clothing, eye/skin color, and more. The Avatar is what then represents you on the map and how others see you in gyms and battles. Upon starting the game, you are given the opportunity to select from either a female or male avatar. After selecting male or female you are able to customize your avatar further by changing the skin, hair, and eye color and hat, shirt, pants, shoes and backpack style.
